Press Release

The Rotary Club of Farnborough is pleased to announce that ‘Music in the Park’ (formerly known as Picnic to Music in the Park) will be held on King George V Playing Fields, Farnborough on Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th July 2017. As in past years this much loved event, a gift to the local community, is being held to raise money for Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice Care, which provides supportive and end of life care for patients and families who are living with a terminal illness, such as cancer, in West Surrey and North East Hampshire.

The Saturday evening show starts at the earlier time of 7pm and features three tribute acts to Rod Stewart, Tina Turner and Elton John. On stage, Paul Metcalfe provides a stunning representation of Rod Stewart; his act is truly world class and a superbly authentic tribute to one of the all-time great singers and performers.

Niqi Brown, the former X-Factor finalist lets rip with an incredible Tina Turner tribute act to remember, and Graham Nash provides a tribute show to Sir Elton like no other.

Sunday evening, the show starts at 7.30pm and features ‘Soul Legends’, from the people who previously brought us the Magic of Motown. The evening features the music of Aretha Franklin, James Brown, Tina Turner, Michael Jackson, Barry White and many others.

As in past years, each evening will be brought to a close with a fabulous firework display.

This is an event for all the family. Picnics and refreshments can be brought to the park from home, and there will also be food and drinks outlets. For those who wish to do it in style, tickets for the Village

Enclosure will provide a meal, private bar and a real VIP experience.
Ticket are on sale on now via the Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice Care website at and other sales outlets will open soon. Tickets are £20 until the end of May, when the price goes up to £25; children under 12 are free with an accompanying adult. The Village Enclosure tickets cost £50 and can only be purchased by calling the hospice on 01252 729446.
